The NEAR NORTH ENVIRO-EDUCATION CENTRE is partnering with the Lake Bernard Phragmites Working Group to eradicate Invasive Phragmites and restore the Turtle Habitat in Lake Bernard.

The next phase of the project is to work with other Almaguin Communities to rid their Lakes, Rivers, and Watersheds of Invasive Phragmites and begin restoration of natural habitats.

The NEAR NORTH ENVIRO-EDUCATION CENTRE is working to identify and protect nest sites and catalogue turtles in the area.
