Job Posting: Summer Day Program Leaders

The Near North Enviro-Education Centre (NNEEC) is looking for Program Leaders for the Community Adventure Program (CAP), a day program for youth age 6-13 focused on outdoor activities that are both fun and fascinating!  Participants will be outdoors and will also be engaged in activities in the Centre and specific locations in the community.

  

The Near North Enviro-Education Centre  is located on Main St. in Sundridge and aims to be a leader for sustainable rural living.   

We are looking for dynamic, eco-minded leaders to join our team!

Dates of Employment: 


July 3 –  August 24, 2018 (8 weeks, Monday to Friday)
Week 1 is training followed by 7 weeks of the CAP program


Tasks and Responsibilities: 
• Assist in the planning, organization and execution of various activities for youth enrolled in the Community Adventure program 
• provide leadership for:  swimming, canoeing, gardening, eco-crafts, biking, sports and games, hikes to explore the natural environment, community planning and action, climbing, community excursions and more!

Program Leaders will be supervised by Program Coordinators 


Job Requirements: 
• 16 years of age or older 
• enrolled in, or completed secondary school  
• Assets: experience working with children, lifeguard certificate, Standard First Aid

The Near North Enviro-Education Centre (NNEEC) is looking for Program Coordinators for the Community Adventure Program (CAP), a day program for youth age 6-13 focused on outdoor activities that are both fun and fascinating!  Participants will be outdoors and will also be engaged in activities in the Centre and specific locations in the community.

Dates of Employment:

June 25 – Aug 29, 2018 (9.5 weeks, Monday to Friday)

Week 1 is training and preparation, week 2 is training CAP leaders, followed by 7 weeks of the CAP program and 3 days of summary and evaluation

 

 

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• lead the planning, organization and execution of various activities for youth enrolled in the Community Adventure Program

• provide leadership for:  swimming, canoeing, gardening, eco-crafts, biking, sports and games, hikes to explore the natural environment, community planning and action, climbing, community excursions and more!

• provide supervision, monitoring and evaluation of tasks and activities of the Program Leaders

 

 

Job Requirements:

• enrolled in a post-secondary program such as Recreation and Leisure, Eco-Tourism, Environmental Studies, ECE, or Education

• Assets: experience working with children, lifeguard certificate, Standard First Aid
